| Oklahoma Could Own First Space Themed Theme Park. |

Jim Schouten, president of JDar Development of New York City says that construction on the theme park could start anywhere from six months from now or two years from now. The main problem for this 1 billion dollar project is to get the FAA to approve the area near Oklahoma Spaceport. there is around 300,000 acres ready to be developed, and only 300 would be used for flight operation, leaving a heft 270,000 acres for development.

Now, I love the idea of a space themed park, and I am surprised no one has made moves to develop it sooner. My only problem is, Oklahoma? Could anyone really see themselves spending the money to take a family vacation to Oklahoma. There is a difference bewtween OK and FL and CA obviously, but last time I went to Oklahoma, excluding Oklahoma City, It was mainly wheat fields, that's not my idea of a great local. And, during the fall, what are they going to do about the rampant and frequent tornados? This, all in all, sounds like a great plan, but if you are going to make it space oriented, and dont want it in California or Florida, I would say, your best bet is Arkansas, there is a NASA training area, and there is always Houston, but Astorworld is just fine with me.
